Maileg is a much-loved Danish toy brand founded in 1999 by designer and illustrator Dorthe Mailil and her husband Erik. The name blends their surname with "leg," the Danish word for play (and it's pronounced "my-lie"). Dorthe still leads the creative direction, dreaming up a whole little world of mice, bunnies and friends, complete with hand-sewn outfits, tiny furniture and the iconic mouse tucked into a matchbox bed. Every piece is made with real care and meant to last, which is why Maileg toys are so often collected, treasured and passed down through families.
